As part of the special prize awarded to him at Classic Violin Olympus 2025, Chinese violinist Ruifeng Lin launched his participation at Portugal's renowned Festival Internacional de Música de Marvão with a distinguished appearance at the festival's Opening Gala on the 22nd of July. The invitation was personally presented by acclaimed violinist and conductor Christoph Poppen in recognition of Lin's exceptional performance at the competition.

Held in the historic courtyard of the Castle of Marvão, the gala brought together the Cologne Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Christoph Poppen. Ruifeng Lin appeared as the evening's violin soloist, performing Felix Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64, one of the most beloved works in the violin repertoire. The programme also featured Mozart's Symphony No. 35 "Haffner" and a selection of songs by Franz Schubert, performed by soprano Juliane Banse.

Opening one of Europe's leading summer music festivals with such a prominent solo appearance marks another significant milestone in Ruifeng Lin's rapidly developing international career. The concert also represents the first of four performances he is giving at the festival as part of his Classic Violin Olympus 2025 special prize, highlighting the competition's commitment to creating meaningful international performance opportunities for its outstanding participants.
