Jingzu Li, Classic Violin Olympus 2025 Special Prize Winner, to Perform at Teatro Massimo Bellini
Jingzu Li, the Winner of the Special Prize at the Classic Violin Olympus 2025 will shine in “Violino e virtuosité” at Teatro Massimo Bellini on the 5th and 6th of December, 2025 performing works by Alexey Shor, Camille Saint-Saëns, Igor’ Stravinskij and Dmitrij Šostakovič.
The Teatro Massimo Bellini of Catania presents an evening of brilliance and virtuosity with the symphonic concert “Violino e virtuosité”. Under the baton of maestro Nayden Todorov, the program brings together a captivating selection of works by Alexey Shor, Camille Saint-Saëns, Igor Stravinsky, and Dmitri Shostakovich.
The spotlight will shine on violinist Jingzu Li, recent winner of the Special Prize at the Classic Violin Olympus 2025. This accolade, awarded to exceptional talents in the international violin scene, recognizes Li’s artistry and technical mastery, making his appearance in Catania an eagerly anticipated event.
Li will perform Alexey Shor’s Concerto No. 4 in B minor for violin and orchestra, a contemporary work full of lyricism and emotional depth, followed by Camille Saint-Saëns’ Introduction et Rondo capriccioso in A minor, a beloved showpiece that perfectly balances elegance and fiery virtuosity.
The concert will continue with Igor Stravinsky’s Quattro impressioni norvegesi, a rarely performed orchestral suite that reveals the composer’s early fascination with folk motifs. The evening will culminate in Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 9 in E-flat major, Op. 70, a work known for its wit, irony, and energetic spirit.
